Foundational Beliefs

Without accepting these three beliefs, it is difficult or impossible to fully embrace other Christian doctrines because they depend on the existence of God, revelation through Scripture, and the redemptive work of Christ.

God's Existence

The belief in God's existence is foundational to Christian faith. Scripture assumes God as the Creator and sustainer of all things, whose reality is evident in the natural world and through human conscience. Understanding God's existence is the starting point for all theological knowledge and faith.

Bible's Inspiration

Christians believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, uniquely authoritative and trustworthy. Through the Holy Spirit's guidance, Scripture reveals God's character, will, and plan for humanity, providing the ultimate standard for faith, doctrine, and life.

Christ's Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is central to Christian faith, confirming His victory over sin and death. It validates Jesus' identity as the Son of God and offers believers the promise of forgiveness, eternal life, and a restored relationship with God.

Everyone Has Fallen Short

Sin touches every life. We all fall short of God's glory and cannot bridge the gap on our own.

Romans 3:23

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Sin Earns Spiritual Death

Apart from God, the wage we earn is separation from Him—spiritual death that no effort can undo.

Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Christ Died Demonstrating Love

Jesus willingly took our place, showing the depth of God's love while we were still far from Him.

Romans 5:8

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God Offers Eternal Life

God steps in with a gift we could never deserve—eternal life made possible through Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 (Gift)

“But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Believe and Confess

Salvation is received by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection with your whole heart.

Romans 10:9-10

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Pray in Your Own Words

The Sinner's Prayer is an expression of a person's faith in Jesus Christ, repentance for their sins, and a desire to receive forgiveness and salvation. It serves as a personal communication with God that acknowledges one's need for Christ, invites Him into their life as Savior and Lord, and marks the beginning of a changed life devoted to following Jesus.

Classic Prayer of Invitation

Lord Jesus Christ, for too long, I've kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

Prayer of Repentance and Faith

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you today recognizing my need for you. I confess that I am a sinner and that I have fallen short of your glory. I am truly sorry for my sins, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and rose again, conquering death so that I may have eternal life. I invite you into my heart and life. Please be my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow you and live according to your will from this day forward. Thank you for your love, grace, and mercy. In your precious name, I pray. Amen.

Simple Prayer of Trust

Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned and made mistakes. I am sorry for my sins and ask for your forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross for me and rose again to give me new life. I invite you into my heart and ask you to be my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow you and live the way you want me to. Thank you for loving me and giving me eternal life. Amen.
